  1. 'The Sitter': Adventure in baby-sitting adds raunch and violence — 2 stars

Mildly funny adventures in extreme baby-sitting, director David Gordon Green's "The Sitter" finds its emblematic moment in the scene of Sam Rockwell, playing a Brooklyn drug dealer, joking around and then suddenly blasting one of his minions in the foot in a realistically painful way. That's Green for you. He's the man behind "Pineapple Express." Hahahahaha and suddenly there's blood on the floor.

  3. Zooey Deschanel is the 'New Girl' in Fox's comedy lineup

    Zap2It
Maybe "New Girl" could have been made without Zooey Deschanel, but it's hard to imagine. Virtually no other current performer so perfectly embodies the kooky, endearing quality required by the Fox sitcom that debuts Tuesday, Sept. 20. "I would like to...

  5. 'Your Highness'

Medieval sagas take their lumps in this uneven comedy co-written by Danny McBride, who also stars as the unambitious younger brother of an experienced knight (James Franco) whose fiancee (Zooey Deschanel) is kidnapped by a sinister wizard (Justin Theroux).

  7. 'Horrible Bosses' makes for funny laughs

"Horrible Bosses" is so far the funniest R-rated comedy in a year crowded (some would say overcrowded) with R-rated comedies.  Already this year we've had "Bad Teacher", "Bridesmaids", "Hall Pass", "The Hangover Part 2", "Paul", and "Your Highness".  "Horrible Bosses" tops them all.  It isn't a film I would recommend to people who hate raunchy comedy (one of the characters even has an unprintable name), but if you're its target audience, you're in for a good time.

  11. 'The Other Woman'

There's been a lot of Natalie Portman on-screen lately, between her Oscar-winning work in "Black Swan" and such subsequent releases as "No Strings Attached" and "Your Highness." This drama from director-screenwriter Don Roos ("Bounce") actually was made before those but saw a brief theatrical life only recently.

  13. Natalie Portman has Oscar — and a baby — on her mind

You'd think this much would have been enough to make 2011 a banner year for Natalie Portman: So far this year, she's won a Screen Actors Guild Award and a Golden Globe, earned an Oscar nomination and watched as her art-house film "Black Swan" has taken in $90 million domestically (and counting).

  17. The Morning Fix: Hulu's headaches! Second-guessing 'Arthur' and 'Your Highness.' NFL and players get to talk it over.

    Company Town
After the coffee. Before avoiding sin in Sin City. The Skinny: Everyone loves to guess why a movie didn't work after it comes out, but rarely before. This week it is "Arthur" and "Your Highness" that are getting the Monday......
