    Much was made of this cartoon feature boasting the first African-American heroine in the history of Disney animation, but the fantasy – an Oscar nominee for best animated feature – otherwise marks a return to many of the studio's traditions in the genre. Young New Orleans resident Tiana, who has the voice of Anika Noni Rose ("Dreamgirls"), encounters a prince-turned-frog (voice of Bruno Campos) ... and finds herself sharing his plight following their expected kiss. The transformed couple then have to seek help to get restored to their proper images.
