'22 Jump Street' tells similar jokes, is still funny
*** (out of four) It ruins nothing to say that “22 Jump Street” ends with increasingly ridiculous ideas for the next movie. And the next movie. And the next 10 movies after that. If you’re that person who leaps up at the end to go to...

TBT: Did anyone believe they were students?
Everyone knows that Channing Tatum and Jonah Hill, both in their 30s, do NOT look like college students. They looked even less like high school students in "21 Jump Street," the 2012 franchise reboot in which the two played cops posing as high schoolers....

  • Second trained 'Dragon' is less charming

The charms of "How to Train Your Dragon" are thinned a bit for its sequel, a cartoon with better animation and livelier action, if fewer jokes. And if there's one thing these sweet-message / great flying sequence movies don't need, it's fewer jokes....

  • Movies Stars are an Endangered Species as Actors Struggle to Stay Relevant

Summer blockbusters make studios happy, but they make stars nervous. That's because a lizard is the real star of "Godzilla," not an actor. And in franchises like "Captain America," "Spider-Man" or "X-Men," the superhero is the brand, while the casts...
