Ruth D. Baird, a retired educator and counselor, died of a stroke Aug. 16 at her Rodgers Forge home. She was 77. Ruth Dudley Dentinger, the daughter of a comptroller and a homemaker, was born and raised in Louisville, Ky., where she graduated in 1951 from Sacred Heart Academy. After earning a degree in education in 1955 from the University of Louisville, she married David W. Baird III, a chemical engineer, the next year. The couple lived in Louisville until 1966, when they moved to Tustin, Calif., until returning to Louisville two years later.
