October means Breast Cancer Awareness Month. And over the past several years, the fashion and beauty industries have gotten in on the effort by selling specialty products to help benefit research efforts.
With the items, which are not surprisingly awash in pink, the companies have pledged certain portions of sales to breast cancer awareness efforts. For example, Maryland’s Route One Apparel is donating profits to Leslie’s Week, an Annapolis-based nonprofit that provides vacations for Stage 4 metastic breast cancer patients and their families.
