Baltimore reggae institution Jah Works celebrates their 20th anniversary with a show at the 8X10 in Baltimore this Friday night (8 p.m.).
Jah Works always has been dedicated to writing, recording and performing their first-rate original reggae music, which celebrates the Jamaican reggae tradition, from roots-rock to dance hall, while incorporating modern hip-hop, drum and bass ("dub" in Jamaican music parlance), and popular music into the mix.
All of the band's eight albums are keepers, as reflected by sales of more than 100,000 records. The band's 2009 release, "Rewind," was featured on the front page of iTunes Reggae for eight weeks.
