Life on the road is 1 of normalcy for carnival vendors

Avery Vonderheid has faithfully attended the State Fair of West Virginia since she was a little girl.

Like many, Vonderheid says the fair holds a special place in her heart, as she's made countless memories and friends through the years.

But her memories are probably just a bit different than those of the average fairgoer.

Vonderheid didn't have to wait for the carnival to come to town — she rolled in with it.

"I was born into the carnival business," the 25-year-old said, explaining her grandfather Bob Boling owned Midsouth Shows for 30 years and her mom Teresa has traveled with Reithoffer Shows for more than 30.
