11. Plenty of cultural activities are just a stone's throw away in West Friendship

It never ceases to amaze me how folks in the West Friendship area have access to so many cultural activities within just minutes of home. As much as our area prides itself in its original rural and agricultural roots, in recent years, this area has been...

  13. 'Entourage' recap: 'Whiz Kid' or when Vince had to beat a drug test

A funny thing happened during the previous season of "Entourage" -- it actually got good. And not "good" in the typically dumb but satisfying "Entourage" way (pool parties with Bob Saget followed by renting a Maserati, for example), but rather the stakes were raised and consequences actually meant something. That can happen when an addiction to blow and a relationship with pornstar Sasha Grey enter the picture. (For a more extensive, smarter look at last season, read GQ's Sean Fennessey's piece from last August here.) It was the show's darkest season by a mile, and it set the table for an opportunity to finish the series on a compelling note.

  15. 'Entourage' recap: Drama on top

The Chase brother worth rooting for — no, not the handsome one with the blank look stapled to his face — will finally get his payday. With the help of Andrew Dice Clay, Johnny Drama stood up to the network and made them cave to their actors' strike. "Johnny Bananas," the cartoon show with promise, will make it to the air, and most importantly, Dice will be his sidekick. Sorry, Jamie Kennedy, but your "talents" are no longer needed. When Drama muttered "victory" in half-astonishment, half-relief, it was a nice moment for a guy who's been a punchline for many episodes.

  17. 'Entourage' recap: E and Sloan -- it's really complicated

They said it couldn't be done, but Doug Ellin and his crew finally did it. They put together an episode of "Entourage" with actual purpose and direction. Is it sad it took them until the penultimate episode of the entire series to do it? Probably, but at this point, we should take what we can get.

  19. 'Entourage' recap: 'The End' or when everything suddenly mattered

For the final episode of "Entourage," creator and writer Doug Ellin went all-in, for better or worse. It was a finale that felt like a Finale, with huge plot points being tied together as if the Mayans were right all along about 2012. Some storylines were more believable than others, but one thing was for sure — the "Entourage" boys wanted to go for broke, raising the stakes tenfold in both cheap and effective ways.
