Alicia Keys

Highlights
Alicia Keys

Alicia Keys' debut album, "Songs in A Minor," produced a string of hits -- including "Fallin'" and "A Woman's Worth" -- and earned the R&B singer-songwriter five Grammy Awards. Her subsequent albums continued to spawn both radio hits and critical praise.

With roles in feature films, such as "Smokin' Aces," "The Nanny Diaries" and "The Secret Life of Bees," it seems Keys has caught the acting bug.

  1. 'The Voice' recap: Jermaine Paul wins Season 2

If anyone ever makes Jermaine Paul be a back-up singer again, America needs to punch that person in the face.

  3. 'The Voice' recap: Battle Rounds week 3

NBC billed the second-to-last battle rounds on “The Voice” as one of the most unique and memorable performances in the show’s history. Well, they were right. Pity the weirdness – or predictability? – came in the form of the battle between live-at-home punk rockers The Shields Brothers and breathy, warbling former model Erin Martin. Not going to lie, it was horrible. Almost in a good way.

  9. 'American Idol' recap: Season premiere

"American Idol"kicked off its 11th season with a retrospective feel as it took us back to 2002 and reminded us of the moment when waitress Kelly Clarkson won the inaugural season. Video clips of Idol hopefuls as kids performing were flashed before our eyes.

  11. 'The Voice' recap: Episode 2

Phew! Two hours of “The Voice” is a lot to process. The NBC show was heavy on the tug-at-your-heartstrings contestant backstories tonight, which can make for some intense emotional weight-lifting. But we all survived, and slowly but surely, Adam Levine, Cee Lo Green, Christina Aguilera and Blake Shelton are building up their teams.

  19. Suggs serves important role as clown prince of the Ravens' locker room

A group of reporters was gathered around Ravens center Matt Birk this week, asking difficult questions about the team's pitiful pass protection, when someone across the locker room turned up his stereo as loud as it would go and began to sing.

  23. Weekend's best bet: Marsha Ambrosius at Rams Head Live

The English R&B singer Marsha Ambrosius first caught America's attention as Floetry's singing half (remember the single "Say Yes"?). Since then, she's penned songs for Alicia Keys and Jazmine Sullivan. Ambrosius, who plays Rams Head Live Sunday night, struck out on her own this past March with her debut solo album, "Late Nights & Early Mornings." It's a seductive album with enough surprises to keep things interesting: she covers Portishead's "Sour Times" and first single "Hope She Cheats On You (With a Basketball Player)" is as sharp-witted as the title sounds. Memorable soul albums don't happen as much as they use to, but Ambrosius' knows smart songwriting leads to staying power.
