Digest: First Tee of Greater Baltimore golfers headed to Pebble Beach

The First Tee of Greater Baltimore is sending Jairus Gaines, a junior at Gilman, and Kendel Abrams, a junior at Susquehannock in Glen Rock, Pa., to compete in the Nature Valley First Tee Open at Pebble Beach, Calif., an official PGA Tour Champions event Sept. 13-18.

Gaines and Abrams will join 79 other participants from The First Tee chapters for the event, which is in its 13th year. They were selected by a national panel of judges, who evaluated playing ability and comprehension of the life skills and character education learned through their involvement with The First Tee.
