Dr. Howard J. Ehrlich, a sociologist, educator and author who founded the Prejudice Institute, died Feb. 2 at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center of Parkinson's and cardiac disease. He was 82. Born in New York City, Howard Jay Ehrlich was raised there and in Columbus, Ohio, where he graduated from public schools. He earned his bachelor's degree in 1953 in sociology, and a master's degree in 1955 in sociology and anthropology, both from Ohio State University. In 1959, he earned his Ph.D. in sociology and anthropology from Michigan State University in Lansing.
