Annapolis woman posed as physician assistant, treated 200 children

Posing as a physician assistant, a 37-year-old Annapolis woman with no medical license treated 200 infants and children and wrote more than 400 prescriptions over 10 days last year, prosecutors said. Shawna Michelle Gunter admitted in a plea agreement Wednesday that she forged her paperwork, including a physician assistant certificate and a Howard University diploma, to get a job at with a pediatrician with offices in Centreville and Chestertown, Maryland's U.S. Attorney's office said.
