  9. Guide to June 2012 TV premieres, movies, specials

If it gets to hot outside this summer, don't worry. You'll have plenty of TV to watch in the air-conditioned luxury of your living room. June brings a bevy of new and returning TV series, specials and movies, as will the rest of the summer. Here's a complete list (as complete as can be) of premiere dates and times for the month of June. As always, I will continue to add when I hear of more premieres, and please let me know if I've forgotten something.

  11. 'Men at Work' isn't very ambitious

TBS, whose slogan is "Very Funny," has built its house out of sitcoms — most of them reruns (currently including "Seinfeld," "The Office," "Friends," "The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air" and "The Big Bang Theory"), but with an increasing emphasis on the new. (It's also acquired "Cougar Town" from ABC.) It's like TV Land for viewers whose sense of nostalgia is rooted in the '80s, '90s and early '00s: a demographic that includes the characters in its new original series, "Men at Work."

  23. Critic's Notebook: Network TV embraces the B-word

Last year, when the 2nd Circuit Court of Appeals curtailed the Federal Communications Commission's powers to punish networks for "fleeting expletives," many worried that network television would become a battlefield of exploding F-bombs and barely bleeped C-words. Turns out, all the decision, currently under review by the Supreme Court, did was unleash the "bitches."
