Lafayette High football star Jahlil Green has declined an invitation to play in the Virginia High School Coaches Association Football All-Star Game in July. His moms, Rhonda Lassiter and Loretha Green, tweeted on Tuesday that Green will enroll during the summer at William and Mary - where he recently signed to play on scholarship - and focus on academics and summer workouts with the Tribe.

Green was a first team to selection at running back in 2013 on the three Group 3A All-State football teams after rushing for 2,055 yards and 34 touchdowns to lead the Rams to a 12-1 record and state quarterfinal berth. He was also picked as a first team all-state defensive back by the Virginia High School League.

Green's teammate, Schekel Wallace, will play in the VHSCA All-Star Game according to Rams' coach Andy Linn. Wallace, who committed last week to play at Christopher Newport University, had more than 120 tackles and was a consensus all-state this past season, when he was also named the Daily Press Football All-Stars Defensive Player of the Year.
