No. 20 Delaware and All-American Elena Delle Donne are doing what Old Dominion used to do: Dominate Colonial Athletic Association women’s basketball.

Delaware (21-3, 12-0) beat ODU 86-62 Thursday before a nearly full arena in Newark.

Delle Donne, who passed former James Madison star Dawn Evans on Sunday to become the CAA’s all-time scoring leader, had 26 points, seven rebounds and six assists.

The Blue Hens (21-3, 12-0) won their 16th consecutive game overall and their 31st CAA regular-season game in a row.

ODU dropped its third game in a row — all to the CAA’s top three — in falling to 16-9, 7-6. Shae Kelley had 20 points and six rebounds, but usual starter Ashley Betz-White did not dress after hitting her head in Tuesday’s loss to JMU.
