A Gloucester resident who is a professor at the Virginia Institute of Marine Science has been reappointed by the governor to a state advisory board on aquaculture.

Roger Mann, who lives in Dutton, specializes in the physiological ecology of marine mollusks and other aspects of fisheries and aquaculture.

The Virginia Aquaculture Advisory Board was created in 1992 by the General Assembly to advise the commissioner of Agriculture and Consumer Services on matters relating to aquaculture. The seven-member board is appointed by the governor to represent the interest of the state's aquaculture industry.

The governor also reappointed to the board A.J. Erskine, of Kilmarnock, the aquaculture manager of Bevans Oyster Co.
