Columbia crash leaves Gambrills man dead, two injured

Howard County police are investigating a single vehicle crash early Sunday morning in Columbia that left one person dead and two others injured. Police said the crash happened at 4:36 a.m. The preliminary investigation indicates a 2002 Nissan Frontier was heading west on Guilford Road in the area of Stirling Bridge Drive in the southeastern part of Columbia when the car left the roadway and struck a tree, police said. The driver was transported to the Howard County General Hospital and was pronounced dead. He has been identified as 29-year-old Nicholas Thomas Morrison of the 800 block of Maple Avenue in Gambrills.
