Two tornadoes confirmed to have touched down in Maryland on Thursday are among seven tornado reports from the storms, with several others spotted in Tennessee and Georgia.
The tornadoes here were in Montgomery and St. Mary's counties. Both were rated EF-0 on the Enhanced Fujita scale, the weakest category of tornado, and damaged structures and trees.
The Montgomery tornado traveled 17 miles from North Potomac to Burtonsville, downing trees that damaged homes and vehicles. It had maximum wind speeds of 75 mph.
More detailed information on the St. Mary's tornado was expected later Monday.
