The day after a record blizzard hit the Baltimore region, Julia Hahn's husband was driving through two feet of snow to pick up employees for her catering business.

It was Jan. 24, and Hahn was determined to host the wedding reception for Samantha Foxton and Alex Scarborough, whose nuptials had been postponed the day before amid the whiteout. The couple were clients for Whitehouse Caterers, of Catonsville, and friends of the Hahn family.
