A tornado with 75 mph winds damaged buildings and trees in Laurel and Scaggsville on Tuesday, according to the National Weather Service.
It crossed a 4.3-mile path, as much as 75 feet wide, just after 10 p.m.
Weather service officials traced its damage from a building near Fort Meade Road and Route 197, into downtown Laurel, across the Little Patuxent River and into a subdivision just east of Hammond Middle School. A weather service employee reported hearing a loud roar near its end point.
The tornado didn't cause any injuries. It was rated an EF0 on the Enhanced Fujita scale, the weakest category of tornado.
