Haiti is one of the poorest countries in the world. In 2010, about 88% of their rural population was at poverty level after a 7.0 magnitude earthquake struck. Hundreds of thousands were killed and, as a result of the tragedy, people from all over the world responded with help including South Windsor resident Dr. Saud Anwar.    Shortly after the earthquake, Dr. Anwar traveled to Haiti. He saw children without parents, homes, and educational opportunities. As a doctor, he felt as though he needed to help the children.
