Trulick, Craig ignite Berlin soccer victory

Samantha Kalp, Olivia Ogline and Brooke Little also scored goals for the Lady Mountaineers, who improved to 5-3.
Trulick tallied two assists while Kalp and Amber McClintock added one assist apiece. Marah Riley was the winning goalkeeper.
“A number of our players were playing in unfamiliar positions because of all the injuries we have had, but Natalie Eckenroad, Kerri Smith and Sammie Kalp did a very nice job for us filling in,” Berlin coach Rich Murray said.
Alexis Graham netted Windber’s goal. The Lady Ramblers’ record stands at 1-8-1.
NS 7, Rockwood 3
BOSWELL — Chantelle Ansell scored four goals to help power North Star past Rockwood 7-3 Thursday night in girls varsity soccer.
Cheyenne Kuncher netted two goals for the Lady Cougars (9-1) while Rachel Druist also scored on a header. Assists were credited to Chasity Dupont (2), Allie Swihura, Druist and Haley Eubanks.
Winning goalkeeper Sam Carmean made nine saves.
Sam Mognet netted two of Rockwood’s goals. Sarah Foy also scored with an assist coming from Chelsey Beener.
“It was senior night for the Lady Cougars,” North Star coach Renee Lepley said. “The eight seniors recognized were Chantelle Ansell, Rachel Druist, Amanda Gindlesperger, Megan Hause, Gabi Neuhof, Tiffany St. Clair, Allie Swihura and Hannah Taylor. This is a very special group of players to me. They are all excellent leaders and great role models for the younger girls. It has been awesome to coach such a terrific group over the past four years and to watch them grow and mature as soccer players and young ladies. Tonight’s win was for them.”
Altoona 2, Somerset 1
SOMERSET — Altoona dealt Somerset a 2-1 overtime loss Thursday night in boys varsity action.
Ian Hicks scored for the Golden Eagles with an assist from Jeremy Scheffel.
“We played really well enough to win the game,” Somerset coach Mark Wasilchalk said. “We generated a number of opportunities ... but we just ran into a hot goalkeeper who continually made save after save.”
Somerset (6-1-1) hosts Forest Hills at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the athletic stadium.

DAVIDSVILLE — Jacob Sauter netted four goals and Kody Ofsanko contributed three scores as Conemaugh Township crushed Johnstown Christian School 11-0 Thursday in boys varsity soccer.
Ben Wilson knocked in a pair of goals for the Indians (8-1-1) while Izzy Callihan and James Bassett also scored. Goalkeeper Jeff Callihan recorded the shutout.
Ligonier 3, Windber 1
WINDBER — Ligonier Valley upended Windber 3-1 Thursday in boys varsity soccer.
Jake Nemeth, Denny O’Brien and Chris Huber all scored for the victors. Jacob Hanley scored for the Ramblers (4-4) on a penalty kick.
CT 8, Meyersdale 1
MEYERSDALE — Abby Livella, Megan Boyer and Danielle Wertz scored two goals each to power Conemaugh Township past Meyersdale 8-1 Thursday in girls varsity soccer.
Chloe Reese and Erin Lischerelli also scored for the Lady Indians (8-1). Assists were credited to Allyson Lonas (3), Livella, Gabrielle Williams, Wertz and Marla Aurandt. Winning goalkeeper Jenna Telenko made six saves.
Alayna Harshberger netted Meyersdale’s lone goal.
