SOMERSET-—St. Peter's Catholic School in Somerset announces that applications for enrollment for the new kindergarten for the 2012-2013 school year will be available beginning Monday.
Applications can be picked up from the school office during school hours from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Information will also be available about the registration process.
The new kindergarten will be housed in the current school building and will operate with the regular school calendar for the 2012-2013 school year. Transportation is provided to students by Somerset, North Star, Berlin, Shanksville and Rockwood School Districts.
St. Peter School's provides an education that focuses on the whole student with an emphasis on academic excellence, spiritual foundation and service to each other and the world. The curriculum is based on the Pennsylvania State Standards of Excellence and is accredited by the Middle States Commission on Elementary Schools.
St. Peter School continues to serve children of all faiths from various local school districts as it has done for 50 years. Anyone wishing to tour the school and find out more about Catholic Education as an opportunity for your child(ren) are asked to call the school and set up an appointment.
The school will also hold its annual "Celebrate Catholic Schools" Open House from 6 to 8 p.m. Jan. 30 for anyone to see the school, meet the teachers and students of St. Peter School which celebrated its 50th Anniversary of excellence in Catholic Education this year.
First grade registrations as well as registration forms for upper grades will be available at the school at the open house and during the weeks of Jan. 30 to Feb. 10. Parents are asked to bring their child's birth certificate, social security identification and immunization records for registration.
