Piney Run, Northwinds senior scrambles
GARRETT — The team of Tom Thomas, John Ralston, Bill Spear, Jim and Henry Miller combined to shoot a sizzling 7-under par for first place honors in the Piney Run senior scramble Monday.
Detisch and Gary Miller were 50-50 winners. Chuck Hauer was closest to pin on hole No. 9. Spear sank the longest putt on No. 5 and Ernie Smith made the longest putt on No. 8.
Gary Starkey, Mike Harber, Clyde Mostoller and Devon Miller combined to shoot 5-under par to win the afternoon scramble.
Second place (4-under) went to the team of Hauer, Barry Craig, George Housel and Barry Yoder.
Jim Miller was closest to pin on No. 9. Jake Knotts sank the longest putt on No. 5 and Craig made the longest putt on No. 8.
Senior golf continues at 9 a.m. Thursday.
INDIAN LAKE — A card-off was used to decide first place in the Northwinds senior golf scramble Monday where two teams shot 6-under par.
First place was awarded to the team of Bernie George, Bob Baltzer, Bud Hankinson and Paul Rock.
Second place team members were David Williams, Bob Elliot, Paul Frank and Ed Maxwell.
Larry Williams, Clyde Custer, John Yasika and Harry Sherry won the afternoon shamble event with 73 points. Second place went to the team of Don Pensiero, Jay Hay, Paul Martincsek and Art Canalungo.
Men Over 50
MIDDLECREEK TOWNSHIP — Men Over 50 senior golfers played a best 2 ball event Monday at Middlecreek Golf Course.
First place (140) was nailed down by the team of Roy Wise, Don Rohrer, Jack Smith and Roger Romesburg.
Second place (144) went to Jerry Chabol, George Hay, John Paul and Dale Nolf.
Two teams tied for third place at 146.
Longest putt kicker winners were Stanley Brooks on hole No. 3 (8-1 1/2) and Jack Smith on No. 9 (22-8).
