James M. Jacobs Sr., 83, of Lincoln Township, died Jan. 23, 2012, at Somerset Hospital. Born Jan. 6, 1929, in Somerset, he is the son of the late Albert and Minnie (Wetzel) Jacobs. Also preceded in death by a brother John. Survived by wife, Erma (Livingston) Jacobs, sons, James M. Jr., Roger Lee, Thomas Paul and Mark Allen Jacobs all of Somerset. Grandson, Robert E. Jacobs and brother and sisters, Fredrick Jacobs and wife Mildred of Johnstown, Martha Walker of Somerset and Grace Carey and husband Leon of Somerset. Member of Laurel Hill Gospel Tabernacle, Pennsylvania Farm Bureau, Somerset County Sheep and Wool Growers Association, Somerset County Beef Producers and the United Steel Workers. Also a 1948 graduate of Somerset High School. Formerly employed at Bethlehem Steel as a mechanist and currently was a Lincoln Township farmer. Friends received 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in the Robert H. Halverson funeral Home and from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday, the time of service, in the Laurel Hill Gospel Tabernacle with Rev.
