Dr. William W. Carrier, 74, Windber, died July 28, 2011, at home surrounded by his loving family. Born Nov. 13, 1936, in Summerville, son of John and Romaine Carrier. Preceded in death by his parents; son Michael; twin infant granddaughters Sally and Josey; and brother-in-law Richard Roman. Survived by loving wife of 38 years Judith; children: William W. III, married to Dawn, Maryland, James, married to Ami, Maryland, Stephen, married to Vicki Jo, Florida, John of Maryland, and Joan Carrier, Johnstown; grandchildren: Craig, Chase, Kathleen, William, Gus, and Greta; stepgrandchildren, Ryan and Mary Catherine; sister-in-law Honey Roman, brother-in-law James, married to Lisa Muse, and niece Diane, wife of Alfie Shalhoup and Miel Roman, and cousin Virginia Eshbaugh. Also survived by numerous other nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his beloved dog, King of Steepleview, who was his constant protector and friend. William is a graduate of Summerville High School class of 1954, a graduate of Franklin and Marshall class of 1958, and a graduate from the Eastern College of Maryland Law School class of 1970. He also attended the American University of the Caribbean and graduated from the University of Maryland Medical School. He worked at Mercy CVHM, Lee and most recently Windber Hospital as an ER Physician. He was also the director of emergency medicine at Hanover Hospital for 10 years. He had a true love for farming, he raised haflinger horses, and was a producer of Kobe beef in Windber. William also sold five types of wine grapes to various wine producers. Family and friends will be received 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Frank Duca Funeral Home Westmont Chapel, 1622 Menoher Blvd. Funeral service 10 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.
