Dorothy Mae Cline, 92, Brooksville, Fla., formerly of Somerset, died Sept. 13, 2011, at her residence. Born Aug. 31, 1919, in Somerset, the daughter of Frank Sylvester and Leora Mae (Koontz) Burkett. Preceded in death by parents; husband, John Clifford Cline, who died June 1, 1982; brothers: James, Edward, Melvin and Merle Burkett; sisters: Katherine Burkett, Marie Shaffer and Shirley Bishop; and great-grandson, Jonathan Haakinson. Survived by children: Patricia Naughton and husband Jim, Brooksville, Fla., Fred Lape and wife Ruth, Somerset, stepdaughter, Bonnie Brenner; grandchildren: Franklin and Ronald Lape, Becky Naughton, Cindy Ames and husband Kevin, Tracy Simpson, Patricia Leasure and husband Vince; 11 great-grandchildren; 14 great-great-grandchildren; brothers and sister: Kenneth Burkett and wife Ruthellene, Somerset, Franklin Burkett and wife Barbara, Seminole, Fla., and Leora Peters, Virginia Beach, Va. Dorothy moved to Florida in 1964 and worked as a nursing assistant for Morton-Plant Hospital in Clearwater, Fla., where she retired with 20 years of service. She was also a member of the Brooksville Christian Church and the Somerset Alliance Church. Friends will be received 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home, where a service will immediately follow with the Rev. Scott Ream officiating. Interment St. John’s Cemetery.
