EAST CONEMAUGH — The Conemaugh Valley Baseball Tournament has been postponed for today and rescheduled for next Saturday, according to Berlin athletic director Tanner Prosser.
Berlin and Rockwood are scheduled to participate in the tournament.
INDIAN LAKE — The Northwinds Friday morning mens league played a 1 best ball of 4 format.
First at 16-under par was the foursome of Bernie George, Clyde Deremer, Ken Fisher and Ken Pressell. Second at 14-under were Bill Mignogna, Tom Elliot, Metro Rygel and Bob Bowden. Three teams shot 13-under. Card-off for third went to Jack Bowden, Dave O'Brien, Larry Stahl and Glen Lafferty. Card-off for fourth went to Rich Murray, John Rullo, John Baltzer and Ed Maxwell.
Closest to the pin on No. 8 was Rygel and closest to the pin on No. 16 was Rullo. Longest putt on No. 15 was Jerry Hoffman. Jerry Chabol was medalist with a low gross 77.
Bedford 3, Windber 2
BEDFORD — Bedford defeated Windber 3-2 in boys tennis Thursday.
Bedford's Caleb Goodin defeated Stephen Thomas 6-1, 6-1 in No. 1 singles play. Windber's Jake Hanley defeated Jack Bittner 7-6(7-5), 2-6, 15-13 (Super tie break) and Nick Napora defeated Joey Twigg 6-4, 6-3.
Bedford swept the doubles matches with Kenny Ward and Gunner Layton defeating Adam Sube and Nate Crognale 6-2, 3-6, 6-1 and Vit Bruzck and Nick Dobrovinski defeating Adam Feather and Chase Petrunak 6-2, 6-1.
Bedford improves to 10-4 overall. Windber (5-7) hosts Tussey Mountain Wednesday.
Men over 50
MIDDLECREEK TOWNSHIP — The Men over 50 team of Larry Sanner, Jack Smith, Joe Branas and Jerry Martz combined for a 157 score and first place honors Friday at Middlecreek Golf Course.
Second place (16)0 was nailed down by the team of Jim Montgomery, Jerry McFadden, Dale Tressler and Gene Krotzer.
Two teams tied at 161.
Bill Cober won the kicker for longest putt (11-9) on hole No. 9.
SOMERSET — The team of Jim Hahn, Bob Hainzer and Eileen McLaughlin scattered 1,926 pins for first place honors in senior bowling Friday.
Second place (1,915) went to the trio of Jim Wiltrout, Ron Delano and Devon Miller. Third place (1,911) was nailed down by Jim Kimmel, Clara Miller and Rose Pingatore.
