Under the guidance of director Claire Houser, the musical will be performed at the playhouse July 25 through Aug. 10. Houser served as stage manager for fellow directors, and has also appeared in Cresson Lake's productions of Marvelous Wonderettes and Winter Wonderettes.
Her cast for AIDA includes: Katrina Bodenschatz as Aida, Ty Quillon as Radames, Kelly Devett as Amneris, Josh Devett as Zoster, Tony Malvoisin as Amonasro, Breanne Huber as Nahebka, Jake Smith as Mereb and Josh Demi as Pharoh.
Members of the ensemble are: Jonathan Morrone, Sierra Wilt, Michael Nicholson, Hayley Lingenfelder, Cecilia Houser, Johnathon Hutchison, Mallory Bean, Kyle Huber, Anne Rematt and Hannah Lushko. Bre Corle, Marie Gattusa, Tony Demi, Johnna Cwik, Anne Dominick and Hannah Love have been cast as the featured dancers.
The production staff includes David Logue serving as music director, Tim Houser as assistant music director, Kim Shank as stage manager, K.T. Huckabee as choreographer and Lisa Surkovich as costume designer.
AIDA tells the story of an enslaved Nubian princess and an Egyptian soldier. Their love story is anything but simple in fact, it is forbidden, and they must choose to part forever or be killed. Aida and Radames set a shining example of true devotion for lovers everywhere.
This old-fashioned musical won four Tony Awards, including Best Musical Score. Audiences can expect a pop-rock score featuring heartfelt ballads and beautiful choral numbers.
Show times for AIDA are scheduled for Thursday through Saturday at 8 p.m. Matinees are scheduled for 2 p.m. on July 28 and Aug. 4.
