The following items were taken from police reports:
•The owner of a gray 2010 Chevy Malibu reported four two-inch-long scratches on the trunk of the car July 11 after it was parked overnight in the lot of the Motel 6, 441 W. Algonquin Road.
•A homeowner in the 1500 block of North Beverly Lane reported July 10 seeing two people trying to knock over a mailbox, and seven other mailboxes in the area that includes the 800 block of Jennifer Court were discovered damaged.
•A silver Tag Heuer Carrera watch valued at $1,595 was reported stolen from a hook covered by a towel in the men's shower room at XSport Fitness, 960 W. Dundee Road, July 11 between noon and 1 p.m.
•The owner of a dark blue Toyota Corolla took off without paying for $53 worth of gas at the Shell Gas Station, 2113 N. Arlington Heights Road, at 3:20 p.m. July 10.
•The three-by-five-foot village of Arlington Heights flag hanging in the third floor of Village Hall, 33 S. Arlington Heights Road, and valued between $200 and $250 was reported stolen between 8:30 a.m. and 3 p.m. July 10.
•A blue man's 10-speed Trek mountain bike valued at $200 was reported stolen between 9:50 and 9:54 a.m. July 10 while it was locked to a smoking post at Walgreen's, 1711 W. Campbell St.
•Ten wooden pallets valued at $100 were reported stolen overnight July 10 from behind a business in the 500 block of South Arthur Avenue.
•An old, brown Samsonite briefcase valued at $100 and containing a checkbook and personal paperwork was taken from an unlocked 2005 Buick Lacrosse parked in a lot in the 100 block of South Wilke Road between 1:30 and 3:30 p.m. July 8.
•A blue 15-speed Schwinn Continental bicycle and lock valued at $150 were taken sometime between 7:15 a.m. and 6 p.m. July 9 from the bike rack at the Metra Train Station, 45 W. Northwest Highway.
•Three exterior halogen light fixtures, four electric junction boxes and three reserved parking signs at the Plaza Office Park, 115 S. Wilke Road, were damaged sometime between 5 p.m. July 3 and 8 a.m. July 8.
•A homeowner in the 1300 block of Radcliffe Road was duped and robbed around 3 p.m. July 9 by a man dressed in a landscape-type uniform who distracted him in the back yard over a fence issue while his home was burglarized.
•A cell phone was reported stolen July 9 at noon from an unattended purse left in a shopping cart at a store in the 100 block of McHenry Road.
•A 50-year-old Round Lake man was arrested July 9 at 6:25 a.m. and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and illegal lane use near 79 N. McHenry Road.
•A 27-year-old Wheeling man was arrested July 7 at 1:36 a.m. and charged with aggravated driving under the influence while his driver's license was suspended, resisting a peace officer and improper lane usage along Dundee Road at Crofton Road.
•A 33-year-old Waukegan man was arrested July 7 and charged with speeding and driving on a suspended license along the 100 block of Lake Cook Road and Milwaukee Avenue.
•A 32-year-old Wheeling man was arrested July 7 and charged with driving while his driver's license was revoked, having no muffler and possession of drug paraphernalia along Milwaukee Avenue and Deerfield Road.
•A garbage can was set on fire at 12:49 a.m. July 4 in Mallard Park, 720 S. Mallard St.
•A black marker was used to draw on Virginia Lake School, playground equipment, portable toilet and electrical box sometime between July 3 and 5 at 925 N. Glenn Drive.
•The rear entry door frame to an apartment building in the 800 block of East Lilly Lane was damaged between July 5 and 7. Repairs were estimated at $200.
•The owner of a 2000 Kia SUV parked in an apartment lot in the 1500 block of North Winslowe Drive reported the theft of a Garmin Nuvi GPS left in the windshield and two blue power tools left in the back seat between July 1 and 2.
•A guest at the Holiday Inn Express, 1550 E. Dundee Road, reported the theft of a Tamron Di-II Wide Angle Lens camera valued at $499 from a locked room June 30 or July 1. A laptop computer and an Apple iPad were untouched.
•An unlocked dark green Trek Mountain Bike was reported stolen at 6:08 p.m. July 7 from the front porch of a home in the 100 block of North Rohlwing Road.
•The owner of a storage unit at Public Storage, 1350 E. Dundee Road, who had requested a lock replacement, found a new lock but was missing tools, clothing, bicycles and a CD collection that were taken between June 29 and July 5.
•A 55-year-old Lakemoor woman was arrested July 4 at 12:47 a.m. and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and improper lane usage along the 1000 block of Northwest Highway.
•A 25-year-old Carpentersville man was arrested July 5 at 12 a.m. and charged with illegal transportation of alcohol, driving under the influence of alcohol, possession of cannabis and speeding along the 100 block of East Dundee Road.
•A 38-year-old Palatine man was arrested July 7 at 1:45 a.m. and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and improper lane usage along the 800 block of East Dundee Road.
•A 19-year-old Schaumburg man was arrested July 8 at 1:54 a.m. and charged with unlawful use of a weapon and being a minor consuming alcohol after he entered a residence in the 3600 block of Kirchoff Road through an unlocked door. Brass knuckles were found in his pocket, and he couldn't explain why he was in the house.
•A 37-year-old man, a 24-year-old woman and a 19-year-old woman, all of Joliet, were arrested July 9 and charged with attempted retail theft and criminal damage to property after taking $652 in DVDs into a restroom and cutting open the packages, but leaving them at WalMart, 1460 Golf Road.
•An 18-year-old Arlington Heights woman was cited for improper lane usage and being a minor consuming alcohol after she was pulled over at 1:52 a.m. July 6 along Algonquin Road and Algonquin Parkway. Her passenger, a 19-year-old Wheeling man, was cited for unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia and being a minor consuming alcohol.
•A clerk at the Sprint store, 1635 Algonquin Road, reported a Samsung Galaxy Note 2 phone valued at $649 was stolen July 6 from a display.
•Two 15-year-old girls from Rolling Meadows and Arlington Heights were arrested July 5 at 3:28 p.m. and charged with retail theft after they were seen taking clothing, jewelry, cosmetics and candy with a total value of $63.34 from WalMart, 1460 Golf Road.
•A 42-year-old man and a 35-year-old woman from Mount Prospect were cited for retail theft after taking baby wipes, clothing, ointment and ink cartridges valued at $58.63 from WalMart, 1460 Golf Road.
