The following items were taken from police reports.
On Aug. 16 a woman discovered her wallet missing after making a purchase at the The Fresh Market at 3232 Lake Ave. She was unsure if the wallet was lost or stolen.
On Aug. 18 Wilmette officers assisted Illinois State Police on a motorcycle accident involving a fatality at I-94 and Lake Ave.
On Aug. 17 a man reported leaving his wallet, watch, cell phone and eyeglasses in a plastic pouch in his vehicle at the Michigan Shores Club. He said he secured the vehicle and when he returned money from inside the wallet and the watch were missing.
A man rode his bike to work and left it unsecured outside the rear of the Backyard Barbeque Store. When he finished work he discovered it missing.
A woman reported the rear window of her vehicle was broken while parked in the 600 block of LaPorte. She suspects a workman replacing a garage door may have broken the window.
Officers responded to a call of a subject possibly pawning stolen merchandise. After speaking with a subject who was attempting to pawn a reciprocating saw and a cordless drill, he was taken into custody. The merchandise was found to be taken from Millen's Hardware. The subject was charged with retail theft, processed and released on bond.
A 61-year-old driver from Scottsdale, Arizona, traveling on Wilmette attempted to turn onto Old Glenview Road and struck a bicyclist. The 45 year old victim, a resident of Evanston, was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The driver was cited for failure to yield.
A resident of the 2400 block of Pomona reported that he locked his bike and helmet to the bike rack at the Linden CTA station. When he returned at 4:30 the bike, helmet and lock were all missing.
A Comcast truck exiting an alley in the 1600 Spencer was struck by a five year old on a bicycle riding down the sidewalk. The bicycle sustained minor injuries.
A 54-year-old Highland Park resident was arrested for driving on a suspended license after being stopped for a traffic violation.
A resident of 200 block of Greenleaf reported that he had been contacted by "Bill Me Later" regarding an account that was opened in his name. The account was opened using his social security number and other personal information.
A resident of the 1200 block of Elmwood reported that someone stated they worked for "Sallie Mae" and needed her social security number and "Sallie Mae" account number to complete the application for a student loan she was named as a reference. The victim did not supply any information to the caller and wanted to document the incident.
The custodian for Regina High School reported that someone damaged a bus window overnight. The security camera for the parking lot where the bus was damaged is not functioning at this time.
A resident in the 900 block of Lake Avenue reported a 12 foot Japanese Lilac tree was ripped out from the front lawn. Village parkway tree also damaged.
