The wellness center at the B.R. Ryall YMCA in Glen Ellyn will close for a day and a half while it gets some new equipment, officials say.

"We have recently renovated our Men's and Women's locker rooms and now are upgrading our Wellness Center by bringing in over 40 new pieces of top-of-the-line cardio equipment. To enhance each member's cardio workout, the new equipment will have its own personal viewing systems," said Dee Dee McDevitt, VP Membership & Marketing with the B.R. Ryall YMCA of Northwestern DuPage County.

The new equipment, which is being leased by the YMCA, includes treadmills and ellipticals and will replace old, outdated equipment. It has been since 2004 that the facility has brought in any substantial new machines, McDevitt said.

The wellness center at the YMCA, at 49 Deicke Road, will be closed starting at noon on Thursday, Nov. 14 and will remain closed through Friday, Nov. 15. It will reopen during normal hours at 6:30 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 16. The other areas of the facility will remain open during this time.
