Oak Park

An Oak Park man walking in the alley behind the 100 block of South Scoville Avenue was jumped by four men who stole his cell phone and his wallet. The incident occurred between 12:15 and 12:25 a.m. June 24. The men, who were in their 20s, grabbed the victim's cell phone, valued at $100, from his hand. Then they hit him and pushed him to the ground. They also took his wallet, which was later found in the alley minus the $22 that had been inside it.

A heavyset teen ran up to an Oak Park woman on the 600 block of North Harvey Avenue between 9:20 and 9:30 p.m. June 23, snatched a white Samsung Galaxy S5 cell phone from her hand and fled south and then west in an alley. The phone was in black case that contained a credit card. The loss was $1,070.

Five men ages 18 to 20 approached an Oak Park man from behind and began punching him on the 600 block of Lake Street between 12:45 and 1 a.m. June 19. They then stole a gray leather Kenneth Cole messenger bag containing a black Armani rain jacket, a gray Kenneth Cole dress shirt, a black Armani dress shirt and a black Movado watch, valued a total of $4,940.

A Lombard girl walking on the 500 block of Gunderson Avenue at 7:50 a.m. June 19 said a man in his 30s driving a black Ford Focus demanded she come to him. She ran, and the vehicle drove away south.

A 14-year-old Oak Park girl was riding her bicycle on the 100 block of Adams Street at 9:45 p.m. June 17 when a thin boy 15 or 16 years old pulled her off and took her cell phone. He was with a large group of boys, one of whom retrieved the phone and gave it back to the girl.

A 45-year-old Chicago man was charged June 25 with retail theft from the Jewel store, 438 Madison St.

A 40-year-old Hillside man was charged with driving while his license was suspended. He was stopped on the 6300 block of Roosevelt Road at 11 p.m. June 24.

A 25-year-old Chicago man was charged with burglarizing a house on the 300 block of North Harvey Avenue on June 24.

A 15-year-old Oak Park boy was charged June 23 with the theft of a UPS package off the porch of a house on the 200 block of North Kenilworth Avenue. The youth was turned over to his mother.

A Chicago boy was charged with a theft that occurred on the 200 block of South Elmwood Avenue at 5:36 p.m. June 22. He was turned over to his mother.

A Chicago boy was charged with burglarizing a motor vehicle behind the 800 block of South Taylor Avenue at 9:45 p.m. June 22. He was turned over to his mother.

A 20-year-old Chicago man and a 22-year-old Oak Park man were charged with the battery of an Oak Park resident. The incident occurred at 7:50 p.m. June 22 on the 600 block of South Austin Boulevard.

A 48-year-old Chicago man was charged with criminal trespass to a house on the 0-100 block of Washington Boulevard. The incident occurred at 5:10 a.m. June 22.

A 46-year-old Chicago man was arrested at 1:22 a.m. June 22 on the 300 block of Madison Street on a Calumet City warrant for no valid driver's license.

A 19-year-old Oak Park man living in the 1200 block of North Austin Boulevard was charged June 21 with domestic battery. He is accused of battering another Oak Park resident in his home.

A 63-year-old Chicago man was charged with retail theft after stealing from the Deals store, 6405 North Ave., around 2:04 p.m. June 21.

A 23-year-old Oak Park man living in the 100 block of North Kenilworth Avenue was charged June 21 with domestic battery. He is accused of battering another Oak Park resident in his home.

A 19-year-old Chicago man was charged with criminal damage to property after he broke the wooden fences in front of a house on the 700 block of Hayes Avenue at 9:21 a.m. June 20.

A 29-year-old Chicago man was arrested on the 0-100 block of Erie Court at 3:40 a.m. June 20 on an Illinois Department of Corrections warrant for parole violation.

An Oak Park girl turned herself in June 19 for stealing something May 22 on the 300 block of South Kenilworth Avenue. She was released to her parents.

A 50-year-old Oak Park man was charged with theft after he was positively identified as the person who stole an Oak Park girl's purple bicycle on the 600 block of Lake Street at 6:37 a.m. June 19. He also had a 4-inch-long glass pipe with copper mesh inside that is used to smoke a controlled substance.

A 21-year-old Chicago man was arrested by Chicago police on the 1100 block of South Oakley Avenue at 8:30 a.m. June 18 on an Oak Park charge of theft from a juvenile.

A 17-year-old Chicago boy was charged with disorderly conduct after a June 17 incident involving an Oak Park resident on the 100 block of Wesley Avenue. The boy was turned over to his grandmother.

Two Chicago boys, ages 16 and 17, were charged with aggravated vehicular hijacking and aggravated robbery after attacking an Oak Park resident on the 800 block of North Ridgeland Avenue. They were arrested at 10:38 p.m. June 16 on the 1100 block of North Menard in Chicago.

A 34-year-old Lombard woman was charged with disorderly conduct following an incident at 11:20 a.m. June 16 on the 100 block of Madison Street.

A 46-year-old Oak Park man living in the 1200 block of North Kenilworth Avenue was charged June 16 with domestic battery.

A 28-year-old Oak Park man was charged with domestic battery following a June 16 incident on the 900 block of North Humphrey Avenue.

Chicago police arrested a 25-year-old Chicago man at 4:10 p.m. June 18 on the 1100 block of North Larabee Avenue on an Oak Park warrant for criminal trespass to real property.

Someone broke into a house on the 300 block of South East Avenue and stole a gold claddagh ring, $2,000 cash, a Dell laptop computer, three wrist watches and the keys to a 2000 Ford Ranger pickup truck. The items, valued at $14,000, were taken between June 19 and 24. The lock to the front door was pried for entry.

A silver Trek 4500 bicycle valued at $475 was stolen between 6 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. June 25 out of an unlocked garage on the 600 block of South Oak Park Avenue.

Jewelry and other items valued at $7,370 were stolen between 9 and 10:15 a.m. June 25 out of an house on the 900 block of Mapleton Avenue where the front door was left unlocked. Taken were an emerald and diamond ring, costume jewelry ring, a silver Apple MacBook, an Apple iPhone 4S, a Canon AE1 camera, and a wallet containing $80, credit cards and identification.

An HP Pavilion laptop computer with black case and two electric shock dog collars, all valued at $500, were stolen between 8 p.m. June 24 and 4:30 a.m. June 25 out of an unlocked car parked on the 700 block of Garfield Street.

A gray Diamondback bicycle valued at $150 was stolen between 3:50 and 4:12 p.m. June 25 out of an unlocked garage on the 1100 block of South Elmwood Avenue.

Two fishing poles and a wallet containing $25, a gift card, identification and credit cards, all valued at $100, were stolen between 7 p.m. June 24 and 9:40 a.m. June 25 out of an unlocked car parked on the 900 block of Garfield Street.

A blue-and-green Fuji Discovery bicycle valued at $200 was stolen between noon and 2 p.m. June 25 out of a garage on the 300 block of North Ridgeland Avenue where the overhead door had been left open.

A black Novarro Express bicycle valued at $1,050 was stolen between June 21 and 24 out of a garage on the 1100 block of Home Avenue where the overhead door had been left open.

An Apple iPod with charging cables valued at $220 and $5 in coins were stolen between 5 p.m. June 23 and 7:45 a.m. June 24 out of an unlocked car parked in a lot on the 900 block of North Austin Boulevard.

Cash, an iPod armband and a cellphone charger, all valued at $50, were stolen between 9 p.m. June 23 and 10:30 a.m. June 24 out of an unlocked car parked on the 800 block of Wesley Avenue.

Two phone chargers and a red Shedrain umbrella, all valued at $87.99, were stolen between 9:15 p.m. June 23 and 7:30 a.m. June 24 out of a car parked on the 900 block of South Highland Avenue.

An Apple iPod and charger along with cash, all valued at $325, were stolen between midnight and 8:20 a.m. June 24 out of an unlocked car parked on the 800 block of Clarence Avenue.

Someone pushed up the screen on the rear kitchen window while trying unsuccessfully to enter a house on the 800 block of Erie Street in the early morning hours of June 23. Damage was $20.

Apple iPad and Samsung chargers, $10 and an Oak Park parking card, all valued at $50, were stolen between 4:30 p.m. June 21 and 10:30 a.m. June 22 out of an unlocked car parked in a village lot at Lake Street and Forest Avenue.

An Apple iPod, gym and running shoes and compact discs, all valued at $665, were stolen between 7 p.m. June 21 and 9 a.m. June 22 out of an unlocked car parked on the 500 block of North Humphrey Avenue.

An Apple charging cable, cloth hand towels, cash and a vehicle registration, all valued at $60, were stolen between 3 p.m. June 21 and 2:58 p.m. June 22 out of a car parked on the 400 block of North Harlem Avenue.

A man about 20 years old was seen walking near an unlocked car parked on the 500 block of North Humphrey Avenue from which an Apple iPhone, $200 and miscellaneous cards were stolen out of a purse. The theft occurred between 10:20 and 10:25 p.m. June 21.

A yellow-and-black tool box, a black nylon Craftsman tool bag and a black Campbell Hausfield air conditioner, all valued at $550, were stolen between June 17 and 21 out of an unlocked garage on the 200 block of South Lombard Avenue.

A silver-and-black Trek 7000 bicycle valued at $200 was stolen between 12:20 and 12:30 p.m. June 21 out of an unlocked garage on the 900 block of South Grove Avenue.

A red push-style shopping cart, cash, credit cards, jewelry, checkbooks and a phone charger – all valued at $220 - were stolen between 12:30 and 1:15 p.m. June 20 out of an apartment on the 300 block of South East Avenue.

A $30 wallet containing credit cards, a driver's license and identification was stolen between 3 and 6:29 a.m. June 20 out of a car parked on the 200 block of South Elmwood Avenue. A window had been left open.

A white Apple MacBook laptop computer and a red Jansport backpack, both valued at $1,600, were stolen between 6:20 a.m. and 4 p.m. June 19 out of a house on the 100 block of North Humphrey Avenue. The lock was pried on the front door for entry.

A black Apple iPad tablet and a red wallet containing a driver's license and four credit cards, valued a total of $550, were stolen between 10:15 a.m. and 1 p.m. June 19 out of a house on the 700 block of Hayes Avenue. Entry was through a closed but unlocked rear door.

A black backpack containing compact discs, a brown wallet, cash and a driver's license, all valued at $205, was stolen between 1:40 and 1:52 p.m. June 19 out of an unlocked car parked on the 500 block of South Elmwood Avenue.

A red Dell 13-inch laptop computer and a black 15.6 Acer/Aspire HD laptop computer, valued a total of $900, were stolen between 5 p.m. June 18 and 8:35 a.m. June 19 out of an office on the 200 block of South Boulevard. Entry was through a closed but unlocked window.

A locked 21-speed Fuji mountain bike valued at $400 was stolen overnight June 20 from the common area behind a building on the 1500 block of North Austin Boulevard.

A man about 20 was seen using pliers to cut the lock and steal a blue-and-gray Cross Trail bicycle valued at $525 from the rear courtyard of a building on the 900 block of Lyman Avenue.

A black iPhone with black case valued at $200 was stolen between 2 and 3:45 p.m. June 22 out of a locker in a gym on the 200 block of South Marion Street.

A cream Schwinn Gateway Cruiser bicycle with brown lettering and black seat along with a bike lock, all valued at $310, was stolen between June 19 and 22 out of the common area stairwell of a building on the 400 block of North Taylor Avenue.

A yellow-and-black Takara Kauteo bicycle valued at $220 was stolen between 10:30 a.m. and 1:15 p.m. June 21 from a rear porch on the 100 block of North Humphrey where it was locked.

A silver Diesel watch valued at $500 was stolen between 3:45 and 4 p.m. June 21 out of an unlocked locker in a building on the 1100 block of Lake Street.

A Cicero resident's red Schwinn Varsity bicycle valued at $80 was stolen between June 18 and 20 from a bike rack on the 1100 block of North Boulevard where it was locked.

A teen-age boy stole a River Forest resident's unlocked and unattended black Rhino mountain bike valued at $100 from the 600 block of South Ridgeland Avenue between 11:34 and 11:39 a.m. June 21.

A gaming system and controllers, video games, jewelry, backpack and baseball caps -- all valued at $730 -- were stolen between 7:20 a.m. and 7:30 p.m. June 18 from an apartment on the 200 block of Washington Boulevard. Entry was made by breaking the glass on the vestibule door window then prying the lock on the apartment door.

Nothing was taken out of a car when an unlocked garage was entered on the 1000 block of South Scoville Avenue between 10:30 p.m. June 17 and 5:45 a.m. June 18.

Cash from one wallet and a red leather bifold wallet containing cash, a driver's license and cards were stolen between 9 and 11 a.m. June 18 from a house on the 600 block of North Taylor Avenue. The rear door had been left unlocked. The loss was $80.

A FedEx package containing a Van Goody laptop computer sleeve valued at $50 was stolen between 5 and 6:30 p.m. June 18 off the porch of a house on the 600 block of Clarence Avenue.

An orange-and-black leaf blower valued at $125 was stolen between June 14 and 18 out of a garage on the 400 block of North Harvey Avenue where the side door was forced open.

A men's 26-inch, blue-and-silver Gary Fisher bicycle valued at $1,195 was stolen between 11 p.m. June 17 and 6:21 a.m. June 18 out of a garage on the 1100 block of South Harvey Avenue where the side door was forced open.

Two Apple iPods and two Toshiba laptop computers, all valued at $1,960, were stolen between 5 and 6 p.m. June 18 out of a house on the 1000 block of South Cuyler Avenue. The front door was closed but unlocked.

Cash and a black nylon case containing 25 music compact discs, all valued at $218, were stolen between 7:40 p.m. June 16 and 10 a.m. June 17 out of a car parked on the 800 block of North Elmwood Avenue.

A black Reaction Cruiser bicycle valued at $175 was stolen between 1:10 and 1:15 a.m. June 17 out of a basement common storage area of a building on the 400 block of Washington Boulevard. Entry was through a closed and locked rear door. A cable lock had been cut.

A boy's 28-inch Cannondale bicycle valued at $700 was stolen between 10:30 p.m. June 15 and 5:45 a.m. June 16 out of an unlocked garage on the 800 block of South Scoville Avenue.

A blue Penny Board skateboard with red wheels valued at $100 and white Nike gym shoes valued at $150 were stolen between 12:15 and 1:45 p.m. June 25 from the softball field on the 500 block of Lake Street.

An unlocked gray Fireman's Texas Cruiser bicycle valued at $1,390 was stolen between June 22 and 25 out of an underground parking area on the 1100 block of Thomas Street.

A blue 2007 Yamaha motorcycle stolen June 17 in Oak Park was found June 25 in Portage, Ind., where one arrest was made.

An unsecured Redmax 8500 leaf blower, a gray Echo weed whacker and orange Makita edger, valued a total of $1,070, were stolen between 3 and 4 p.m. June 22 out of a Cicero resident's open-bed trailer parked on the 900 block of Clarence Avenue.

A woman in her 40s and a man in his 50s stole eight packages of Gillette Pro Guide razor blades valued at $251.92 from the CVS Pharmacy at Roosevelt Road and Oak Park Avenue at 9:14 p.m. June 23. The thieves left in a newer black Chevrolet full-size pickup truck going north.

The owner of a white 2000 Buick LeSabre stolen June 22 in Oak Park did not want to press charges against a friend found with the car at 4:26 a.m. June 23 on the 1100 block of Randolph Street.

A gray aluminum patio table valued at $300 was stolen between 9:45 and 11:45 a.m. June 18 out of the back yard of a home on the 1000 block of South Oak Park Avenue.

Two white Apple iPhones, valued at $225 and $250, belonging to Oak Park women, were stolen between 5:15 and 6 p.m. June 17 from the deck of the children's pool on the 400 block of Lake Street. One device was stolen out of a purse, and the other from a pocket in a child's stroller.

A red, wooden Radio Flyer wagon valued at $199 was stolen between 1 and 9:30 a.m. June 17 out of the basement common area of a building on the 400 block of Washington Boulevard.

A blue 2007 Yamaha XC125VE motor scooter valued at $1,000 was stolen between 6:30 p.m. June 16 and 4:40 a.m. June 17 from the sidewalk on the 500 block of South Harvey Avenue.

A UPS package containing two cans of shoe cleaner and computer cable, all valued at $16, was stolen between 1 and 2 p.m. June 16 from the lobby of a building on the 200 block of Washington Boulevard.

A thin man 45 to 50 years old was found in the living room of a house on the 1000 block of Randolph Street at 12:10 p.m. June 25. He identified himself as an employee of the management company, then fled through a back door. He had reached through an open window next to the back door and unlocked it for entry.

Pieces of asphalt and tan flagstone were used to break the rear window of a car parked on the 400 block of South Maple Avenue between 12:30 and 6:30 a.m. June 24, causing $300 damage.

The hood and both passenger doors of a Chicago resident's vehicle parked on the 100 block of North Humphrey Avenue were keyed between 7 p.m. June 17 and 10 a.m. June 18, causing $750 damage.

A rock was used to break the driver's side front window of a car parked on the 700 block of Pleasant Street between 10:10 and 10:12 p.m. June 17. Damage was $150.

Green paint was put on a car parked on the 800 block of North Elmwood Avenue between 7:40 p.m. June 16 and 10 a.m. June 17, causing $20 damage.

River Forest

A 41-year-old Maywood man was charged with driving under the influence, transporting open liquor and other traffic violations after his southbound car was stopped on Harlem Avenue at 2:23 a.m. June 21. The man was pulled over for not having a license plate, speeding and lane violations. He showed signs of impairment, failed field sobriety tests and his blood-alcohol content was measured at .135, more than the .08 legal limit.

A men's blue Trek mountain bike valued at $379 was reported stolen June 21 out of a garage on the 700 block of Keystone Avenue where the window was broken to allow entry.

A 4-by-4-inch stained glass window was broken in an attempt to get into the west vestibule of a church on the 7600 block of Lake Street between midnight and 5:30 a.m. June 19. Entry had been made into the church through an unlocked handicap entrance.

A men's red, 18-inch Specialized bicycle valued at $50 was stolen between June 10 and 17 out of an unlocked garage on the 500 block of Keystone Avenue.

An iPhone and Verizon cell phone, both valued at $925, were stolen between 4:40 p.m. June 16 and 2 p.m. June 17 out of two unlocked cars parked on the 900 block of Bonnie Brae.

A Tag Hauer watch valued at $4,000 was stolen between 9:30 p.m. June 16 and 6:30 a.m. June 17 out of an unlocked car parked on the 700 block of Clinton. A second unlocked car also was entered.

A Samsung Galaxy phone valued at $200 was stolen about 8:33 p.m. June 16 after its owner left it at a checkout lane in a store on the 7200 block of Lake Street. After leaving the line, the owner noticed the phone was missing and went back to the checkout. The phone was gone.

A 33-year-old Cicero woman was charged with a felony driving under the influence after police saw her commit several traffic violations on North Avenue at 1:22 a.m. June 16. She seemed impaired, failed field sobriety tests and her blood-alcohol content was .150, more than the .08 legal limit. The charge was upgraded to a felony because she did not have a valid driver's license.
