Supermarket deals are seasonably mild in Chicago for the third week of July: a few good produce buys but nothing to leave the backyard sprinkler in order to grab. All these sales start Thursday, July 14, and end Wednesday July 20.
At Jewel-Osco, my favorite offers are the double-dip General Mills Catalina offer (free milk is back) and the free 2 liters of Diet Dr Pepper they're giving out on Saturday. Actually, I hate diet pop, but I thought you might like to know about the freebie. See the Frugalista's full Jewel-Osco sales summary here.
Dominick's might have a good cereal deal too -- they have a "buy 5, save $5 promotion" -- but it won't be clear how good the deal is until they post their prices tomorrow. I also relish the opportunity to buy more 3-packs of Magnum ice cream bars at $1.49 each after coupons. For the details, see the Frugalista's Dominick's deal summary.
At Ultra, you can get a 50 oz. bottle of Purex for $1.88 (limit 2), and they'll throw in a bottle of Clorox bleach, with in-ad coupon. I wonder how many loads this bottle does? Because at Jewel I could get All Small & Mighty for $1.99 after coupon and instant savings -- which is a better deal, do you think?
Aldi is still going with its great summer produce prices: 29 cents a peach or nectarine, 49 cents a mango and 99 cents for a pound of strawberries.
