How long have you played soccer? [Since] I was four years old.
What do you love most about soccer?
The culture that soccer brings to the world and how it takes all 11 players to move the ball around to create an opportunity to score.
What are your goals for the upcoming season? How will you achieve them?
Become the leading goal scorer and lead the Huskies downstate.
How do you motivate yourself to train during the summer?
I watch different players around the world and learn from what they do. That motivates me to learn how they play and work to add that aspect to my game.
Who has inspired you most in your athletic endeavors?
My dad and my high school coach (Jim Konrad). These figures have inspired me to train my hardest and enjoy the game every single day.
What’s the best part about summer in Naperville?
My club team, Galaxy SC, advancing to regionals and getting my North team together to work out at our stadium. This lets me play all summer.
Who is your favorite athlete and why?
Clint Dempsey [U.S. Men’s National Team captain] and Paul Scholes [former Manchester United player] because they are able to change the game everywhere they play.
How do you beat the heat during workouts?
It’s all mental. I have to remind myself what is at stake every single time I train.
Favorite quote or words to live by:
“Hard work beats talent, when talent doesn’t work hard.”
