A woman was critically wounded and a man injured in stabbings suffered during a domestic fight Sunday evening in the Chatham neighborhood.

Paramedics were sent to the 500 block of East 82nd Street at 5:21 p.m. and found a woman who was stabbed multiple times and a man who'd also been stabbed, according to Chicago Fire Department Chief Juan Hernandez.

The two were taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn where the woman was in critical condition and the man's condition had stabilized, Hernandez said. This morning, police were still waiting to interview the two, a woman, age 44, and a man, age 59, who both were sedated at the hospital Sunday evening, police said.

The woman suffered wounds to her face and body while the man was stabbed in the abdomen, according to Chicago Police Department News Affairs Officer Daniel O'Brien.

The two were believed to have been involved in a domestic fight, and when police responded to reports of a disturbance at a home on 82nd Street, they found the two stabbed in the home, said News Affairs Officer Jose Estrada.
