What are Topic Galleries?Topic galleries help you learn more about a particular person, place, event, organization or subject. They give you quick access to articles and photos on a from across all Tribune Co. Web sites. Catch up with your favorite sports team or entertainer, or get a background briefing on a local politician. Topic galleries are updated automatically around the clock as new articles and photos are created.
What's the difference between a topic gallery and a keyword search?
Topic galleries use an advanced search methodology that sifts through the rich newspaper content in all Tribune Company newspapers to give you just what you're looking for. The intelligent analysis that drives topic galleries is much more than just a keyword match; it determines what each article is about and automatically associates it with one or more topics. Many topic galleries also provide a definition, related topics, and links to other sites where you can learn more.
Where does topic gallery content come from?
From the Chicago Tribune and other sites in the Tribune Co. network. That includes articles and photos from the newspaper staff as well as newswire services.
What else can I see on topic galleries besides articles?
You'll see articles and photos. Soon you'll also be able to find video, blog entries, user-submitted photos and more.
How can I find more topics?
Throughout chicagotribune.com, you'll find links to topic galleries within article text. Click on a link when you want to know more about that phrase. Once you're on a topic gallery, just click on "Top" above the topic gallery title to find the index of all topics. We'll be adding a Top Topics list, so you can see what others are looking at, too.
