An upcoming work by Thodos Dance Chicago will be a collaboration between a leading artist of the dance world and a leading artist of the architecture world. Troupe founder and artistic director Melissa Thodos will work with Jeanne Gang, she of Studio Gang Architects and the Aqua tower in Chicago. According to the announcement Wednesday, the result will be a cross-disciplinary dance that “explores the intersections among dance, architecture and physics.”

The work, currently untitled, will have its world premiere as part of Thodos Dance Chicago’s Winter Concert 2014 on Feb. 22 at the North Shore Center for the Performing Arts in Skokie. The program also will include “A Light in the Dark: The story of Helen Keller and Anne Sullivan,” co-choreographed by   Thodos and Broadway's Ann Reinking; a world premiere by Hubbard Street Dance Chicago’s Lucas Crandall; and “Panem Nostrum Quoditianum” by Ahmad Simmons of River North Dance Chicago. Tickets are $26-$46 at northshorecenter.org. The Skokie concert will be followed by two shows at the Harris Theater for Music and Dance on March 8-9; tickets are $20-$60 at harristheaterchicago.org.
