Police were investigating the circumstances of the death of a man whose body was found in a Cook County Forest Preserve near Rosemont late this morning, authorities said.
The body of a man, believed to be in his 60s, was found in the 6200 block of North River Road, according to the Cook County medical examiner's office.
A crew of Cook County Sheriff's SWAP detainees, people convicted of crimes who are sentenced to community service, was cleaning trash out of the forest preserve at that location when the body was found late this morning, said Cook County Sheriff's office spokesman Ben Breit.
Sheriff's police were conducting a death investigation.
An autopsy of the body was expected to be conducted on Tuesday.
