Orland Park Police is asking the public for help in identifying a female suspect who shot a 67-year-old woman in an attempted armed robbery Friday night outside of the Orland Square Mall.
The department on Monday released video obtained from mall security they believe shows the suspect, who is described as a light-skinned black woman with a medium build and shoulder-length hair, wearing a white hat, a long-sleeve white hoodie with a purple shirt underneath, dark jeans and white shoes.

According to a police release, the incident happened about 8:55 p.m. in a part of the mall parking lot near the lower level of the J.C. Penney store. A female came up to the 67-year-old woman and said “Do as I tell you.” The offender then fired one shot, hitting the 67-year-old woman and then fled into the mall.
The victim was transported to Silver Cross Hospital in Joliet with non-threatening injuries. She was released and is in good condition, said Lt. James Bianchi.
