Funeral arrangements have been set for a couple killed in their Palos Township home over the weekend.
John Granat, 44, and his wife, Maria, 42, were found shortly after 7 a.m. Sunday after their 17-year-old son called 911 to report their deaths in the family home in the 12700 block of 81st Court near Palos Park, authorities said.
The son, also named John, was later charged with their murders and is being held without bond. Investigators said he threatened to kill his parents after they discovered and threw out marijuana plants he had been growing in the home. They also said he provided police with conflicting stories about his whereabouts at the time.
A visitation will be held today from 2 p.m. until 9 p.m. at the Damar-Kaminski Funeral Home & Crematorium, 7681 S. 88th Ave. in Justice.
The funeral is set for tomorrow at 10:15 a.m. with prayers at the funeral home. An 11:30 a.m. mass will follow at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 8245 W. 111th St. in Palos Hills.
Interment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery
