The many sides of Bob Dylan —plus a gag reel

McClatchy/Tribune newspapers

'I'm Not There': Another side of Bob Dylan, or rather many sides of Bob Dylan are shown in Todd Haynes' adventurous film in which different actors (including Cate Blanchett, Christian Bale, Heath Ledger, Richard Gere, Ben Whishaw and Marcus Carl Franklin) portray the legendary singer-songwriter at various stages of his career. Special features include a commentary by Haynes, nine deleted scenes, short features on the making of the film and its soundtrack, audition tapes for Whishaw and Franklin, a gag reel and much more. (Genius Products/The Weinstein Co.)

'First Sunday': Pals Ice Cube and Tracy Morgan need money desperately, so they come up with the brilliant idea of robbing a neighborhood church. Naturally, complications ensue in this comedy, which features Katt Williams in a scene-stealing role as a church choir leader. Bonus features include a commentary by writer-director David Talbert, deleted scenes, a gag reel, outtakes with Williams and Tiffany Pollard and several short features about the cast and crew. ( Sony Pictures)

'P.S. I Love You': Hilary Swank stars in this romantic comedy, directed by Richard Lagravenese, about a recent widow who keeps receiving letters from her late husband with instructions about how she can best get on with her life. Extra features include additional scenes, a conversation with author Cecilia Ahern, a documentary ("The Name of the Game Is Snaps") and a music video by James Blunt. (Warner Home Video)

'Twister: Special Edition': Cows, and just about everything else, fly in this 1996 hit, an adventure film starring Helen Hunt and Bill Paxton about meteorologists who track tornadoes. It's out on a two-disc DVD with a digitally remastered picture and bonus features, including a commentary by director Jan DeBont and special-effects supervisor Stefan Fangmeier, specials from HBO and the History Channel, and documentaries "Chasing the Storm: Twister Revisited" and "Anatomy of a Twister." (Warner Home Video)

'African American Lives 2': The ancestry of contemporary African-Americans is explored in this moving and fascinating PBS documentary hosted by scholar Henry Louis Gates Jr. Using the most up-to-date genealogical techniques, including DNA analysis, and extensive historical research, the film (in four one-hour episodes) examines the family histories of comedian Chris Rock, actors Don Cheadle and Morgan Freeman, poet Maya Angelou, singer Tina Turner, radio host Tom Joyner and others. (PBS Home Video/Paramount Home Entertainment)

'Movin' On Up: The Music and Message of Curtis Mayfield & The Impressions': R&B star Curtis Mayfield died in 1999, but the music he made as a member of the Impressions and as a solo artist in the 1960s and '70s endures, setting a high standard for socially conscious pop music. This two-hour documentary includes 22 songs that aired on TV from 1965 to 1973, including "People Get Ready," "Choice of Colors" and "Freddie's Dead" (from "Superfly"), plus interviews with Chuck D, Carlos Santana, Andrew Young, Altheida Mayfield (Curtis' widow) and former members of the Impressions. Bonus features include additional interviews, five extra performances and a 28-page booklet about Mayfield's music and life. (Reelin' in the Years Productions/Universal Music Group International)
