A West Rogers Park man died after the motorcycle he was driving was hit by a compact SUV in the Edgebrook neighborhood this morning, authorities said.

Omar Posos, 35, was declared dead at 7:26 a.m. at Resurrection Medical Center following the accident in the 6400 block of North Navajo Avenue, according to the Cook County medical examiner's office. A 67-year-old Skokie man was cited with failure to yield the right-of-way at an intersection in the accident, police said.

Posos, of the 6200 block of North Kedzie Avenue, suffered his injuries in a motorcycle accident, according to the medical examiner's office.

Police were called about 6:45 a.m. to Navajo at Devon Avenue for a motor-vehicle accident involving a motorcycle, said Police News Affairs Officer Daniel O'Brien.

Investigators determined that a Honda CRV had been going south on Navajo when it was struck by the motorcyle, which was heading west on Devon, O'Brien said.
