How long have you played golf? Since I was six years old.

What do you love most about golf?

How competitive [it is], because it is such an individual sport.  I also like how every single round of golf is always different.

What are your goals for the upcoming season? How will you achieve them?

[One of our team] goals is to win conference. I think that we have the ability as a team along with the experience to be very talented this year. One of my personal goals is to make it down to the state tournament. As a junior I lost in the regional, and would love to make it to state this year.

How do you motivate yourself to train during the summer?

During the offseason I work with a swing coach, along with golfing at many different courses in the Chicagoland area. Also [I spend] countless hours at the driving range working on my game.  But not to be forgotten, I work on my putting at Par King mini-golf course, which is a big part of my success.

Who has inspired you most in your athletic endeavors?

As far as golf goes, Phil Mickelson. The way he carries himself on the course, always having a smile on his face and enjoying playing the game – that’s what it’s all about.

If you didn’t play golf, what would you be doing?

I would use the fall to train for my other varsity sports that I play at Libertyville High School. I play on the basketball and baseball teams.

What’s the best part about summer in Libertyville?

The best part about this summer in Libertyville was making a state run with the summer high school baseball team. We advanced to the final four in the summer state championships.

Who is your favorite athlete and why?

Aaron Rodgers, quarterback for the Green Bay Packers. I chose him because he started playing football at a junior college and is now one of the best players in the NFL. He showed that he never gave up on a dream, and had the work ethic to get to the top.

How do you beat the heat during workouts?

I try to get out to the course or practice facility early in the morning.
