A 26-year-old man was stabbed to death Monday evening during an apparent dispute between roommates, police said.

Following the stabbing, which happened in the Northwest Side's Albany Park neighborhood, police took the man's roommate into custody in connection with the slaying.

About 7:15 p.m. Monday, Eber Ochoa-Deleon, of the 4800 block of North Drake Avenue, was taken from his home to St. Francis Hospital in Evanston, according to police and the Cook County medical examiner's office.

At 8:24 p.m., Ochoa-Deleon was pronounced dead, having been stabbed multiple times, according to the medical examiner's office.

Police believe the man's roommate stabbed him during an argument, and the roommate has been taken into custody, Chicago Police Department News Affairs Officer Michael Sullivan said.
