A man was killed and another person injured in a shooting early this morning in the city's Albany Park neighborhood, police said.

The shooting happened shortly after 5 a.m. on the 4000 block of North Kimball Avenue on the Northwest Side, said Chicago Police Department News Affairs Officer Darryl Baety.

A 20-year-old man was wounded and taken to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead about 30 minutes later, according to a spokeswoman for the Cook County medical examiner's office.

The medical examiner's office listed the occurrence of the shooting as the 4000 block of North Bernard Street. Bernard is a block west of Kimball. A spokesman for the office identified the dead man as Abraham Perez, of the 2800 block of Mansfield Court in West Chicago.

A 21-year-old woman was also shot, police said. She was taken to Swedish Covenant Hospital, where his condition was stabilized.

As of 3:00 a.m. Sunday., no one was in custody for the shooting. Police were investigating.
