A 54-year-old man was injured when he fell from a CTA Green Line platform onto the train tracks below Saturday night, authorities said.
The man struck his head after falling from the platform of the 35th Street-Bronzeville-IIT station about 8:55 p.m., Chicago Police Department News Affairs Officer Hector Alfaro said.
He was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, where his condition was stabilized, Alfaro said.
The CTA briefly suspended Green Line service between Roosevelt and Garfield after the man fell, suggesting that passengers use the Red Line or 29 State buses instead. Green Line service resumed by about 9:40 p.m.
Police said the injured man was intoxicated.
