A Gilberts man was sentenced to 90 years in prison today for murdering his girlfriend and setting the fire that gutted their townhouse.
Frank Hill, 34, was found guilty in May of first-degree murder and aggravated arson for the January 2007 death of Karyn Pearson, 27.
At trial, prosecutors argued that Hill murdered Pearson because she had ended their relationship and ordered him to move out of the townhouse, which was owned by the victim.
In court Wednesday, the victim’s mother, Mary Jo Pearson, called Hill a “coward whose only concern was what was being taken away from him.”
But Hill maintained his innocence, telling the court, “I did not kill Karyn Pearson, nor did I set that fire in and around the residence.”
