A motorcyclist who died on the scene this morning after crashing on the Edens Expressway on the city's Northwest Side has been identified, authorities said.
The victim, 29-year-old Willie Carrington, was dead on the scene, according to the Cook County medical examiner's office. Carrington lived in the 0-100 block of Harlem Avenue in north suburban Glenview, according to the medical examiner's office.
The wreck happened at 1:30 a.m. in the northbound lanes near Foster Avenue, according to an Illinois State Police District Chicago trooper.
No other vehicles were involved and the motorcyclist was dead on the scene, the trooper said.
The northbound lanes were reopened about 5 a.m., the trooper said.
