firefighters battled a fire at a home north of Interstate Highway 88 and west of Illinois Route 59 this afternoon, officials said.
Captain Herbert Myers of the Warrenville Fire Protection District said the station received a call around 2:30 p.m. in the 30W600 block of Sunrise Street. Myers said as of 2:50 p.m. the fire had been declared under control. The home was damaged and a garage destroyed, officials said.
